Mary Jane Wilkinson Richcreek was born August 6th, I854 in Peoria, Illinois. She was married April I5th, I869 when quite young. She was the Mother of sixteen children, thirteen of whom grew to mature years. In addition to raising a large family, she found time to be active in church work, a duty to which she devoted her untiring efforts, was active in the Rebeccas and the Order of the Eastern Star, holding high office in both orders.... .....Mary Jane Wilkinson Richcreek was a daughter of Jacob and Hannah Potter Wilkinson. Jacob Wilkinson was from Chillicothe, Ohio. He died in Wyoming,Ill., in 1890. To this union were born seven children--Charles, Washington, Ellen, Lorette, Harriette, Olive and Mary Jane. Her early life was spent on the prairie, where Father was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad, enduring the hardships of the early pioneer days.
