SITCOM: Dying to Meet Her (planning a lie)

INT. SEYMOUR'S APARTMENT – EVENING

Seymour and Wesley are in the middle of a conversation.

Seymour

Just one thing. When you meet her, you have to say you're dying.

Wesley

What? Why?

Seymour

I said I was helping a dying friend.

Wesley

Why'd you say that?

Seymour

She goes for the caring type. Now she thinks I'm a saint.

Wesley

I have to be dying so you can be a saint?

Seymour

Is that so much to ask?

Wesley

To act like I'm dying?

Seymour

It's not like you never will.

Wesley

No, but it's not like I'm in a hurry either.

Seymour

Think of this as a dress rehearsal.

Wesley

I don't think it takes practice, Seymour.

Seymour

You never know. When the time comes, you could blow the whole thing.

Wesley

I'll take my chances.

Seymour

Anyway, it's only for tonight.

Wesley

What if you end up dating her?

Seymour

I hadn't thought of that.

Wesley

I am not going to spend your whole relationship dying.

Seymour

You're right. That's a lot to ask.

Wesley

I'm glad we agree.

Seymour

Just because you do it once shouldn't mean you have to keep doing it.

Wesley

Exactly.

Seymour

We'll just do the one night.

Wesley

Seymour!

SEYMOUR

You're a pal. See you tonight.
